Purple Rose Theatre Cam- Filming Day

So for the past two weeks I have been participating in a Teen Intensive at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea, MI.  I do love to perform on stage, but today, we filmed short scenes on film, and I can honestly say that now more than ever I want to be a film actress!  Filming the scene was probably one of the most fun things I've done in a really long time, at least this summer.  After it was over, I just wanted to film more and more scenes!  But I think having the experience that I did today really made me realize that film acting is something that I really want to pursue in my life, and that if I didn't, I would look back and my life and wonder why I didn't at least try :) So yeah, just thought I would share how happy I was today with anyone who's reading this post :)

Summer Style: Hats

This summer I've become really obsessed with wearing hats to the pool and to the beach.  My favorite is a kind of 60's inspired wide brimmed black straw hat, perfect for a hot day in the sun w/o being to heavy.  Fedoras are also a big summer hat trend, but they have been in for a couple years now.  I didn't own any until this summer, when I found a vintage one of my grandpas at his condo when we were getting prepared for a sale.  Fedora's are a little more understated then wide-brimmed hats, but they still give off a chic feel that adds spark to a regular pair of jeans and t-shirt :)

A fun accessory, and a cool summer project

Yesterday I was rummaging through my jewelry, looking for a statement necklace to wear with a plain black t-shirt and khaki shorts.  I thought I was out of luck until my dad came back from a yard sale with vintage turquoise and gray necklaces.  At first glance, they looked to be made up of small pebbles, but with a closer look, they were actually kernels of corn!  I chose the turquoise one to wear out, but I will definitely be wearing the grey one soon!  These necklaces also seem like a a fun DIY project, only requiring a color of dye, corn kernels, string/wire, and a utensil for putting a hole in the kernel.  I'll be trying this out soon, so stay tuned for pics! The kernel necklace was a fun and unexpected addition that added a pop to my plain black t-shirt.
